Appreciation for Castles and Crusades

Over the past five years I've become more selective in my Role-playing Game purchases.   So much so that I've considered culling my collection as of late, I was looking at the various versions  Looking at all my collections I've noticed the number of versions I have of various systems, D&D, GURPS, Savage Worlds, and so on.

Some of the edition changes were not really that significant, Savage Worlds for example, and there was extended time between them.   However, one system that had multiple printings and pretty much stayed the same was Castles and Crusades.  With each printing, there was errata and some minor tweaks.

While I do not minding buying a new version of a game I like, part of me has become less interested in the rule changes.    However, to find or keep players, you sort of have to keep up with the revisions.    With that in mind, I have to say, hats off to Troll Lord Games and Castles and Crusades for keeping a great system consistent.
